Diagnosis and Part Selection Advice:

How did you know this part needed replacement? Why did you choose a certain brand/part number?

Damaged in an accident- it was obvious it had to be replaced. The car is old, wasn't very fussy about the brand.

Part Comments

What came in the box? Were additional nuts, bolts, sealant, etc. needed for the repair?

A/C condenser itself, with nice little rubber plugs covering the connection points. Did not come with any screws, such as the ones that mount it to the radiator.

Repair / Installation tips:

Special tools needed? Have to remove other parts to reach this one? Any left-hand threads, sharp edges, messy fluids or other pitfalls to avoid?

If your vehicle has the external transaxle cooler, the little one mounted on the front left side of the A/C condenser, you have to cut off four little plastic retainers that go *through* the condenser vanes. To find the replacements, Google for "Hayden Quik-Mount" and order part 210: it's about $10 - includes four long plastic rods, ends that snap on, plus little rubber-esque vibration pads. You cannot do this job without them.

And if you have the transaxle cooler, it's not easy to remove the condenser by itself - I removed the whole radiator + A/C assembly as a whole, and put the new ones in that way.
